Test first, then replace

A flat battery isn't always a dead battery. We test the battery, the alternator and the starter, so you only pay for a new battery if you need one.

Stop-start and modern cars

Cars with stop-start need the right type of battery (AGM or EFB). Many modern cars, such as BMW, Mercedes, Audi and VW, also need the new battery registered to the car, so it charges correctly. We do this as part of the fitting.

Warning signs

  • Slow cranking on cold mornings
  • Stop-start stops working
  • Battery warning light on the dash
  • Battery more than 5 years old

Your questions answered

How long does it take to fit a car battery?

Most batteries are tested and fitted in 15–20 minutes. Some cars take longer where the battery is under a seat or in the boot.

Do I need to register a new battery?

On many modern cars, yes. If a new battery isn't registered, the car can overcharge or undercharge it and shorten its life. We register it for you.
